Checking in and parking at the Alaska Railroad Anchorage depot

At the Anchorage depot, ticket-counter hours follow two seasons. From mid-May to mid-September, the counter is open daily from 5:30 AM to 1:00 PM. From mid-September to mid-May, it is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and on Saturday and the first Thursday of the month from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM; in that winter period it is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and holidays. If you need ticket-counter service, use one of the published counter windows.

Alaska Railroad says to arrive for check-in one hour before departure. Keep that one-hour depot requirement separate from whatever travel time you need to reach the depot. If you drive, the published depot pay-parking term is $20 for 24 hours and belongs in the driving budget.
