New Jersey hotels with 18+ check-in

By Alexander Backus · Updated September 2026

A good deal on a New Jersey room is no use to you at 18 if the hotel's check-in age is set at 21. An 18+ hotel takes that risk away, and you can book one in the city below. At 18 you can check in there yourself, with no older friend or parent needed on the booking.

Jersey City

The city on this page sits on New Jersey's Hudson waterfront

The hotels this page is about are in Jersey City, on the New Jersey side of the Hudson River. A trip to some other part of New Jersey is a different search altogether, and you are better off running it somewhere else.

If that waterfront city is your destination, it has hotels for 18-year-olds, and there is no need to widen the search to the rest of New Jersey to find one. Your planning can go into your dates and the trip itself instead.

You can board the Statue of Liberty ferry in New Jersey

The ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island leaves from Liberty State Park, which is in Jersey City. One company is authorized to sell the tickets and run that ferry, so there is no second boat to shop around for. If the statue is what you are going for, a New Jersey stay for that trip means a stay in that city.

The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail also stops at Liberty State Park, and the PATH trains serve four stations inside the city. Between the trains and the boat, this is a stay you can plan without a car.
