18+ hotels in Pittsburgh

Price isn't the only hurdle when you're booking a Pittsburgh hotel at 18. The hotels below accept 18-year-old guests, even if you've been turned away elsewhere for being under 21.

A Pittsburgh night before the Great Allegheny Passage

Arriving after dusk means leaving the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) ride until daylight. The trail's western end is in Point State Park, and travel is limited to dawn through dusk. An 18+ Pittsburgh hotel can cover that arrival night.

Taking a tent only works if you have a designated campsite you can reach during riding hours. You can't simply pitch it beside the GAP wherever you stop. The trail's free hiker-biker campgrounds are first come, first served, with no reservations and no guarantee of a space. They aren't accessible by car, and you can stay just one night at each site per trip. Those conditions matter when you're weighing camping against a Pittsburgh room.

When choosing the room, settle where your bicycle will spend the night as well. Pittsburgh has accommodation geared toward cyclists, but a hotel can accept you at 18 without agreeing to take your bike indoors. Before you reserve, ask whether you can bring the bicycle inside and where it would stay overnight.
