Indianapolis hotels for 18-year-olds

By Alexander Backus · Updated August 2026

Booking an Indianapolis hotel at 18 can still end with the front desk telling you that you need to be 21. A confirmation email can arrive before the hotel checks your age. Start with the hotels below to find options that allow 18-year-olds to check in.

Union Station, Lucas Oil Stadium, and Gainbridge Fieldhouse share one downtown core

A hotel with Indianapolis in its name can still be well outside downtown. The Indiana Convention Center is near Union Station and Lucas Oil Stadium, and Gainbridge Fieldhouse is in the same walkable downtown core. If these are your main stops, check the hotel's exact location before choosing a lower rate farther out.

Carmel, Southport, and the east, northeast, and northwest sides are all outside that downtown core. The hotels on this page accept 18-year-olds, so location is the next decision. Choose the one closest to the places you will visit most.

The airport and Indianapolis Motor Speedway are separate west-side trips

Indianapolis International Airport is west of I-465, off I-70 at exit 68. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway racetrack is in the town of Speedway, which is closer to downtown than the airport. A hotel with Airport in its name may suit a flight, but it is not a shortcut to the track.

Indianapolis city bus Route 8 connects the airport with downtown, while Route 10 serves the town of Speedway. Check the current schedule if you plan to use either bus. Choose a hotel that keeps your main ride short.
