Overnight guest limits at Springfield College
For overnight guests ages 13 through 18, Springfield College requires written permission from a parent or legal guardian. It has to reach Housing and Residence Life three business days before the visit.
If you'll remain in the residence hall after midnight, you must be registered through the Housing and Residence Life Guest Registration Form before arrival. Your host's roommates have to agree to the stay, and your host must be with you while you're in the residence halls. Each student is limited to two guests or visitors at a time.
An approved guest stay can last no more than three consecutive nights. If your visit runs longer or the required permission isn't arranged, a hotel that accepts 18-year-olds offers somewhere else to sleep.
What makes up Springfield's 13.45% room tax
For an ordinary taxable short hotel stay inside Springfield, the taxes on the room charge are:
- 5.7% Massachusetts room-occupancy tax.
- 5% Springfield local room tax.
- 2.75% for convention-center funding.
A $200 taxable room charge would therefore come to $226.90 with these taxes, before any other charges. Use the full quote when deciding how much of your budget goes to the hotel; if taxes are already included, the 13.45% has already been accounted for.
