Gonzaga overnight visits need a separate arrangement
A friend's invitation to Gonzaga University doesn't automatically give you a place to sleep. Guests in university housing are allowed from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m., everyone living in the space must agree to the visit, and your host has to accompany you. For an ordinary visit, plan to sleep at a hotel unless you've arranged another place to stay.
Gonzaga's admissions office has a separate overnight program for high school seniors. It runs only during the academic year, with limited availability on most Sunday through Thursday nights. You request an overnight when registering for a qualifying admissions visit, such as a daily visit or preview day. Once Gonzaga confirms the overnight, you don't need a hotel room for that night.
Spokane Transit is free through age 18
No local student ID or advance pass order is needed to use Spokane Transit Authority (STA) buses free at 18. If you don't have its Rider's License card, board and tell the driver your age. You can also show a valid student ID. For a stay using STA buses, you can leave those fares out of your room-and-transport budget.
A companion aged 19 or 20 pays the standard contactless fare of $2 for a two-hour window of bus travel, unless they qualify for another concession. Using the same contactless card or device for each ride caps that rider's fare at $4 for the day. Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards work, as do their Apple Pay and Google Wallet versions.
