Tacoma requires photo ID for in-person check-in
A hotel that accepts you at 18 still has to verify who you are. For an in-person Tacoma check-in, bring valid government-issued photo ID for the staff to check. Meeting the age requirement doesn't remove that step.
Mobile or online check-in works differently under Tacoma's rule. When a hotel offers it through an electronic guest profile in an app or website, that meets the city's requirement to verify your identity. Confirm the hotel offers that method before relying on it for your arrival. An online reservation alone doesn't establish your check-in method.
