Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority runs Rapid Transit as a shared, on-demand ride service. It operates Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to midnight, with no Sunday service. Both your pickup and destination must be inside its active service area.
The daytime fare is $5 for each passenger's one-way ride, rising to $8 from 6 p.m. to midnight. If you take one daytime ride and one evening ride, allow $13 per person. Friends traveling together each owe the fare, so that amount isn't a group budget.

The grounds and walking trails at Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park open at 8 a.m.; the visitor center and Earth Lodge open at 9 a.m. Regular visiting hours end at 5 p.m., so an evening arrival in Macon leaves the park visit for a later open day.
If you're booking an overnight for that visit, make sure the following day isn't Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's Day, when the park is closed. You'll need accommodation outside the park, which has neither overnight facilities nor a public campground.
