Hotels for 18-year-olds in Columbus

By Alexander Backus · Updated August 2026

Columbus can leave an 18-year-old with a paid reservation and no key when the front desk requires 21. The hotels below let you check in at 18. Choose the room you want without asking anyone to overlook your age.

Follow High Street from downtown to Ohio State

Downtown, the Greater Columbus Convention Center, the Short North, and the University District sit along the same north-south High Street corridor. The convention center is downtown at North High Street and Nationwide Boulevard. The Short North sits north of downtown and south of the University District.

Farther north, High Street reaches the University District, home to Ohio State. Downtown and Convention Center names point to the south end of this corridor, while Ohio State names point farther north.

Polaris sits north of I-270

Polaris is in north Columbus, two miles north of I-270 and directly off I-71. That road position gives it a different job from the central High Street stays.

An 18+ hotel still needs to fit the trip. Polaris works for north-side plans, while the High Street corridor makes more sense for trips centered on downtown or Ohio State.
